Susan Elizabeth Chaster

Susan was a passenger, who was sleeping. She and her son caught a ride to Kamloops, where she would attend school as a medical stenographer. The car left the road and went down a steep bank. Susan was thrown from the vehicle, she died on impact. They had a hard time finding her. Her four-year-old son guided help to where she might be. She was under a tree. The driver (her roommate) lived during the rescue but died in hospital. Both their sons witnessed the crash from the back seat. If it was not for them, it could have taken days to find them. The driver was impaired. She was reaching for a beer when the car went off the road, a split second in which two people died.

The following message was provided by Susan's sister-in-law Jo-Anne Chaster, on behalf of Susan's mother, son, three brothers, one sister and their families.

Susan made her first appearance in this world on August 13th, 1958 - a month that would, for a short time, be a time to celebrate. She left this world for Heaven on August 18th, 1986. Now, for the month of August, our feelings are mixed. A loving mother, daughter, sister and friend - we mourn your untimely death until we meet again.
