Jeffrey Jordan Mitchell

Home City: Mississauga, Ontario
Age: 23
Date of Crash: September 21, 1997

My son was a passenger in the vehicle driven by the drunk driver. He was blocks away from his home and was being driven home at the time of the crash. The driver suddenly lost control and slammed into an intersection light standard. The vehicle flipped, ejecting my son. He was killed instantly. The driver walked away with a sprained wrist. My son accepted a ride from the wrong man.

The following message was provided by Jeffrey's mother, Pamela Stout.

On September 21, 1997, I was visited by the police and handed a life sentence. Jeffrey was to leave September 27, 1997 to attend school in British Columbia.

Jeffrey loved the outdoors and nature. He was to take a course in marine biology / wildlife and fisheries. His boxes and luggage are still packed and taped to this day.

I have been left an emotional cripple. A part of me is gone forever. No amount of time will ever heal me, and the pain I feel every day, missing him, the gaping wound will be there forever.
