JUST ONE
It takes just one person to take another's life,
To cause their families pain, suffering and strife.
A human being so full of fear,
Just because someone drank too much beer.
He made his choice getting into his car,
He thought to himself, "I don't have to go far!"
Down the road and over the hill,
Little did he know that he would soon kill.
His car hit another, it flew through the air,
The woman was rushed to intensive care.
At 11:00 pm she was pronounced dead,
All the doctor could do was shake his head.
Another life wasted the doctors replied,
I asked myself why was she dead? Why had she died?
All these questions came up and about,
It made me crazy, I just wanted to shout!
I've come to accept the fact she's not here,
But she'll always be close, so very near.
