Court Monitor of the Year Award

The Court Monitor of the Year Award goes to a volunteer who exemplifies commitment, dedication and diligence in monitoring impaired driving charges. This individual attends court for the purpose of monitoring impaired driving charges and to enhance our presence within the court system.

2009 Court Monitor of the Year

Sharon Pethick - MADD Meadow Lake, SK

Sharon is a volunteer who embodies the term “dedicated”. She takes her role as a court monitor very seriously, and is always able to answer any questions about proceedings. She is knowledgeable and has a passion for her court monitoring.

Janet Mason, MADD South Eastern New Brunswick  

Janet has a passion for everything she does and gives her “heart and soul” back to the community.  As a Court Monitor, Janet attends Moncton’s court regularly and her presence is making a difference. Please thank Janet on our behalf, for all she is doing in her local community.  Congratulations!

2007 Court Monitor of the Year

Mavis Prattes, MADD Thunder Bay

Mavis is very dedicated to her position of Court Monitor.  She will schedule time off from her job to fulfill her duties.  Mavis takes steps to touch base with police officers at the court house, and speaks with the Crown Attorney’s representatives attending the hearings.  Mavis is diligent at following cases in the newspaper, on the television and notes any cases that will be coming before the court. Thanks to Mavis for her contribution to MADD Canada’s mission.

2006 Court Monitor of the Year

Orm Wright, MADD Ottawa

Orm is retired and has been the court monitor for the Chapter since 2003. He faithfully attends court to follow a case from beginning to end and has built valuable ties within the court system. He redesigned the National Court Monitoring form for use by all court monitors and never misses a submission deadline. Thanks to Orm for his contribution to MADD Canada’s mission.
