MADD rates drunk driving laws, Alberta gets B-
CHQR
December 2, 2009

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has released its annual report on provincial impaired driving laws, and Alberta ranks middle of the road.

The 2009 report suggests over the last year Alberta has made few changes, despite having some of highest impaired driving rates in the country.

Our province rated 6th in Canada earning a grade of B-.

MADD believes Alberta should adopt a zero tolerance policy for anyone under 21 or who is in their first five years of driving, which means the 0.08 limit wouldn't apply.

Ontario's laws and approach to drunk driving ranked first in the country.

There, they have 3 day suspensions if you blow over 0.05 and alcohol interlocks for anyone convicted federally.
