MADD encourages sober-driving ribbons
Winnipeg Free Press
November 5, 2009

Mothers Against Drunk Driving wants motorists to tie a red ribbon on their vehicle or personal item to encourage sober driving.

MADD launched its annual holiday impaired driving campaign today at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre.

MADD expects to distribute millions of red ribbons across the country during the campaign which lasts until Jan. 4. It wants people to tie the ribbon on their vehicle or their keychains, purses, backpacks or other personal items.

Driving while impaired is the country’s number one criminal cause of death with four Canadians killed and 196 injured daily in alcohol and drug-related collisions.
