Valley motorist reports drunk driver to police

QUISPAMSIS - The Rothesay Regional Police Force says posted signs urging drivers to call 911 if they spot a drunk driver appear to be working.

On Thursday night a Quispamsis man called police when he saw a driver weaving across the centre line and driving on the wrong side of the road. The concerned citizen followed the Rothesay man until police arrived.

The Rothesay man was arrested for impaired driving and is expected to appear in Hampton provincial court at a later date.

City and valley police joined forces with MADD Canada and NB Liquor to urge the public to phone 911 if they spot someone who could be drunk behind the wheel.

Campaign 911 was launched a week ago.
