Make a legacy gift

You can plan a gift to MADD Canada by making a legacy gift...with Planned Giving at MADD Canada. These contributions can be arranged by will, life insurance, as a gift annuity, or more, to stop impaired driving and support victims of impaired driving incidents

By making a planned gift to MADD Canada, you get to help stop impaired driving, support victims of this violent crime, and enjoy your lifestyle. This is because you have planned your gift so that you don't have to worry about taxes after life. It is because you have made a gift that counts. You can feel comforted knowing that your loved ones are taken care of because you planned your gift. And you can feel good knowing that you are contributing to a future with safer and sober roads, for the next generation, with MADD Canada.

Bequests:  How do I establish a gift of a bequest to MADD Canada?

In order to establish any type of gift of a bequest to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada) it is necessary to create a legal Will, or to create an amendment to an existing Will.  Please talk to your lawyer.

There are three types of bequests available:

Specific Bequest - Often referred to as a "legacy", a specific bequest is a gift of a specific sum of money, specific property or a particular asset as indicated in your Will. The most common of these three options is the gift of a specific amount of money, which is payable to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada), and is the first to be paid after the settlement of any estate debts.

Residual Bequest - A residual bequest is a portion of, or all of the estate, after all other bequests and debts have been paid. A residual bequest is specified in your Will, and indicates that a certain percentage of your estate will be left to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada) upon your death.

Contingent Bequest - A contingent bequest takes effect only in the event of the prior death of other named beneficiaries, or if the original intent cannot be fulfilled. For example, you may choose to leave a specific amount of money to an individual upon your death. If that individual (for whatever reason) refuses or cannot accept the money at the time of your death, you can specify in your Will that this money will then become payable to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada).
